Baldi Hot Springs Hotel & Spa name takes place in honor to our Grandmother Virgita Baldi.
Our complex was built in 1998 as a necessity to seek for Potable Water to our twelve acre property.
Originally we used to buy the water to the old owner, he was our next door property owner also. This gentleman which last name is Solis decided to stop selling us the water we needed.
This action obligated us to find resources in our seeking for the priced liquid. That is how we decided to dig a well, Our admiration was extreme when we saw hot water coming out of the well.
At the present we have dig 5 wells, all of Thermal water. On each one of them we can find different water temperatures.
The Moral of the history is that all came out as a result of a bad person’s action, and it came to mean a wonderful blessing for us and for all the people who enjoy the therapeutic benefits of the volcanic mineralized thermal water.
As a difference with the hot water coming on a river, that in most cases is contaminated, our water comes directly from our wells as a natural and clear option, offering our clients and visitors the security of the highest purity water in the zone.
Baldi Hot Springs Hotel & Spa opened to the public in year 2000, under the ownership and the contemporary vision of this focused businessman Mr. Alberto Rodríguez Baldi. Lawyer of profession with a degree in International Marketing, Mr Baldi has implemented as a simple initiative to develop prosperity to La Fortuna with his family support, he has become one of the most prosperous businessmen in this zone, where he has reached his objectives to his own benefit and many work opportunities for more than 120 people.
Mr Baldi says: "To find a Volcano vein localized approximately 300 feet deep, has been a coincidence. Somehow by being at the foot of the Arenal Volcano and taking the value of lots of benefits in this zone, it's enough to make reality this project"
Over ten years, this complex has operated as an unique option for tourist destination allowing the growth of La Fortuna and the Arenal Area. This region as being the second most visited region in Costa Rica by international tourists at the end of 1990’s.
Baldi Hot Springs Hotel & Spa has expanded its facilities with 25 Pure Mineralized Thermal Spring Pools (4 of them are cold water), a Jacuzzi giant type-Natural Sauna- Spa, three (3) Wet Bars, two( 2) formal Restaurants, 3.5 kilometers of track tour as well as 8.5 acres of Tropical colorful Gardens.
In January 2007, Baldi Hot Springs Hotel & Spa opened its first module of 32 comfortable and well equipped guest rooms and a gift shop , adding 2 new services to the others already existing.
There is a temporary constructive development process in which a two thousand squared meters ( approx 20,500 sq ft ) Conference Room is being built and 12 guest rooms per module will be added to the complex until we complete a total of 96-120 rooms. At this moment around 125 people work at Baldi Hot Springs Resort, Hotel & Spa.
The Baldi Aqua-Spa bloomed on the resort grounds in the year 2000 as a needed Massage and Therapy Body Treatments menu, to reach the maximum estate of rest and relaxing experience to our guests.
The Baldi Aqua-Spa offers 6 different therapeutic massages and reflexology, (4) four kinds of exfoliations, (2) two types of wraps, (5) five different facial treatments, manicure and pedicure as well as (8) eight more massage -treatment packages and its latest introduced aquassage ( massage in the warm water ) for our guests maximum comfort.
The entire Resort takes advantage of its location to the bottom of the majestic Arenal Volcano, in the heart of the rainforest, with the blessing of the pure therapeutic-mineral waters to offer highly energetic and relaxing massages and treatments carried out by our very professional trained therapists.
